Commitment will turbocharge Cognito’s engagement towards employee and client networking, brand management and communication.
NEW YORK – November 15, 2022 – Angela Byrne, board member for the distinguished American Cancer Society Financial Services Cares Committee, and most recently Director of Corporate Communications of TPP Healthcare, has become the US Director of Business Strategy for Cognito – the international communication and marketing firm focused on finance, technology and professional services. Byrne previously worked for Cognito from 2010-2014, handling a variety of fintech and capital markets clients.
Byrne’s recruitment will further bolster Cognito’s expertise on company engagement and influence as its New York office expands. Byrne comments, “Cognito was my first introduction to financial services consultancy back in 2010. I had the privilege to serve its book-of-business with clients ranging all over the industry before my next career shift. It was those relationships and successful exposure to the finance capital of the world that led me back to the Cognito team 12 years later.”
As Director of Business Strategy, she will primarily focus on identifying and developing new business opportunities to expand Cognito’s brand presence in the US. She is responsible for creating feasible and profitable long-term goals for both Cognito and its client base; as well as provide employee training and seminars on how to grow their personal brands with clients. Cognito has been present in the US since 2004, and serves a range of banking, asset management, infrastructure, fintech and professional services clients from offices in London, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney and Amsterdam.
Tom Coombes, Cognito’s CEO, states: “Angela knows our sector – the challenges it faces and the opportunities it presents – extremely well. She has always been a stellar performer for clients and the business and, now that Cognito has a much expanded business and global footprint, we are looking forward to her helping deliver Cognito’s value to more firms in the industry. We welcome her back and are thrilled to have her in the team again.”
US Managing Director, Andrew Marshall, adds: “Angela is a strong addition to our senior leadership in New York. I find her work to be thoughtful, insightful and natural. With her, I anticipate a strong contribution to the team and the Cognito brand.”
Byrne is an invested communications consultant, with background in agency, in-house and non-profit. She has worked with both large and small brands on strategy and execution. In 2019, she was awarded for being a “Million Dollar Elite” in Atlanta, Georgia for her fundraising and volunteer efforts with the American Cancer Society, as well was PR Daily’s National Rookie-of-the-Year at the start of her career.
