Andrew leads Cognito’s North American business, advising clients across capital markets, banking, asset management and climate finance. He has been with Cognito since 2012 and led its EMEA business until 2018.
Andrew acts as a sounding board for clients and a coach for Cognito client teams, seeking to impart financial expertise in an appealing way to a younger generation. He also continues to undertake media relations with longstanding reporter relationships, and loves writing for clients.
Andrew spent the first decade of his career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank in Toronto and London, before moving into communications in the mid-1990s, with long stints at Hill & Knowlton and Fishburn Hedges. A German speaker, he has extensive experience in leading international communications programs and helping clients turn their expertise into compelling messaging and content. He regularly media trains C-suite executives.
He comments frequently on finance and media trends on social media, engaging with more than 10,000 influential and targeted followers across his network. Andrew is a board member of the Wall Street chapter of CEOs against Cancer, and an active member of Chatham House and PageUp. He previously served for 24 years as a local government councillor in central London, including many years on his borough’s pensions committee.
