The huge turnout for this year’s Sibos in Singapore was in large part reflective of the major changes and opportunities facing the SWIFT community and the need for dialogue and collaboration. Technology was centre stage for the 8,300 delegates – from bankers and startups to asset managers, technologists and treasurers - who attended from every corner of the globe. The deepening maturity of Asian markets, most notably of course the RMB's internationalisation, was also a red thread through the four days.  

Over a hundred journalists descended on Singapore representing financial, business, trade and broadcast media channels from over 30 countries. Cognito was delighted to host a reception for them, our clients – both Singapore based and international -  and our broader network at the glorious Kinki bar overlooking the Marina Bay Sands resort and bay on last Tuesday night. It was hot, but after a packed day in air-con, a visceral reminder that Singapore is just 1.3 degrees of latitude north of the Equator.
